Recently, I shared the news that Dollar Tree had microfiber towels, which are great for dusting, swiffing, and stuffing cloth diapers. That was the first time I'd been to a Dollar Tree in ages. What I didn't tell you is that the reason I made that trip in the first place.
I went because a good friend told me that she got her pregnancy tests there, for a dollar of course. The awesome thing is that either her doctor or a nurse told her about it! Turns out, that is where at least that doctor's office gets their tests. I don't have any cited source or research, just word of mouth. However, I don't doubt it since I found that Dollar Tree does have a website from which you can order in bulk!
I've been using these, and they seem to work fine. This is great news if you're hoping to have a baby and want to be able to check more often without throwing away $15-$20 every time!

I used these and they are a huge money saver when you are lunatic test taker like I was! I got a faint line on one and I mean FAINT before I could ever get a positive result on anything else. Would never waist my money on the expensive tests again.
ReplyDeleteHa. I found out about these two years ago, which is a good thing, because my husband and I use NFP and I'm constantly worried I'm pregnant. Last year, I ran in Christmas Eve for one, because at this point, I was pretty sure I was late. Ran back to walmart where I work, and took it in the bathroom. The positive was so faint, my husband wouldn't believe me. Ended up forking over 18 bucks on Christmas day at Safeway to prove it to him. But still, it works. Can't beat the price (unless you find some for 60 cents a test online.)
ReplyDeleteI have been reading your blog over the past month and I have really been enjoying reading it. Here is yet another great thing about your blog - you have found this cheap option for pregnancy tests because you are right I usually have to fork over about $10 for a two pack of pregnancy tests when I am paranoid about thinking I am pregnant. Thank you so much for posting about this great option for pregnancy tests! Just so happens I have a Dollar Tree about 5-7 minutes from my house so this works out great for me! Thanks again!
ReplyDeletethanks for the tip I have many friends trying to start a family and have this expense to deal with
ReplyDeleteMy midwife told me about these years ago. She said they were the same brand that she could order for her practice and that they wanted her to pay $26 each for them! She said she always tells everyone to get them at the $ store.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know they had an online store, though! That is good to know!
These definitely work! My positive pregnancy test from the dollar store is sitting next to me, lol. And after I got the ultrasound done, I found out my dollar store test showed positive at three weeks!
ReplyDeleteNone of the dollar stores (we don't have a Dollar Store) around here carry them, but an old friend of mine told me a long time ago that her doctor recommended the tests from the Dollar Store because they were actually more sensitive than the tests that the doctor's office had. She said the packaging isn't nearly as pretty as other tests, but if you're peeing on it, does it really matter how pretty it is?
I'll blame it on you!
Wow! I'm so happy to hear all these testimonials about the effectiveness of these tests!!!! Thanks so much for sharing. I'm so glad to help spread the news!!
